The CPD Group began operating in the late 1970’s as the Atwell Building Company. Initially operating as a small maintenance contractor, the company has grown to be recognised as a full service construction, maintenance and refurbishment company. While the CPD Group still prides itself on being the maintenance contractor of choice for many, Maintenance is now just one aspect of what CPD Group can deliver.
The expansion into construction, heritage and refurbishment and mobility services puts CPD Group in a position rare to many construction companies, able to blend experience and flexibility together across all aspects of the project.
CPD Group oversees each contract undertaken to ensure the level of service is delivered at the quality they’ve become known for. The in-house service departments can handle all the trade work involved with the project, meaning one call to CPD Group is all it takes to get the project underway, leaving CPD Group to handle the contract through to completion.

Construction
CPD Group takes pride in being the choice contractor of many Local Governments and several State Government departments. Recent contracts have included new sporting club rooms, school extensions/additions, new build construction projects.
CPD Group encompasses the skills and experience of its own separate trade divisions with the knowledge of well respected contractors to bring together the ideal team for any construction projects.
Specialising in non-residential major building works, CPD Group is capable of taking on the most complex of construction tasks from start to finish including:
- Costings
- Scheduling
- Site Management
- Sourcing of personnel and equipment
- Building in a wide variety of materials; and
- Ancillary Services such as Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Glazing and Painting.
CPD Group will manage the entire project building works from demolition through to finishing trades.CPD Group will coordinate all trades ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of our client’s needs. All service providers report to a single project management team which in turn ensures that the client is kept fully informed of the progress every step of the way.
Refurbishment
Much of the refurbishment work undertaken by CPD Group is for Local and State Governments.
CPD Group has provided skilful heritage refurbishment and conservation work to various buildings.
CPD Group has developed a division which is dedicated to the restoration, conservation and refurbishment of publicly owned heritage buildings. We bring specialised knowledge and expertise to every project. By reversing unsympathetic alterations to reveal the original form and materials or re-painting the colonial or ‘heritage’ colours we can reclaim historic values and aesthetic elegance of a bygone age.
We have significant experience in Building Refurbishments, Building Alterations, Office Fit Outs and extensions to Historical, Government and Commercial Buildings. Refurbishment works can involve structural changes to a building, including additions or alterations, in order to maximise the buildings potential or facilitate a change of use.
Maintenance
CPD Group undertakes maintenance work on behalf of insurance companies, realtors and local shires.
CPD Group has a dedicated all trades service for all your Plumbing, Gas Fitting, Electrical, Roofing, Carpentry and Painting requirements.
CPD Group employs experienced and knowledgeable tradesman who are trained in the latest techniques, materials, methods and technology. The majority of maintenance contracts involve the cost efficient updating of government buildings including offices, hospitals and schools - environments that often involve difficult scheduling procedures. Our expertise in this area ensures that every job runs smoothly with minimal disruption.
CPD Group does not only maintain the internal and external fabric of a building but will also assess and upgrade ancillary services such as plumbing, lighting, heating and ventilation as necessary.
Mobility
CPD Group's Mobility Division advises you of all the options of modifying your commercial, retail, office or private premises to meet the requirement of the physically disadvantaged.
CPD Group Operations Director Graeme Kennedy is qualified as an Access Auditor for Disability Needs and understands that these types of installations require special service and expertise, and that’s what the CPD Mobility division can provide.
CPD Group has built up a comprehensive knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting disabled access, the use of ramps, handrails and the fitting of disabled toilet facilities. Much of the work carried out is focused on implementing the best possible solutions in existing buildings.
